2013 I Installation. Leafgold, stone, wood, painting canvas.

Exhibition Risonanze at Comune di Mazzano Romano.

Work in il Polo Culturale of Commune di Mazzano Romano, located about 35 kilometres north of Rome. The city holds a Finnish and Estonian Artists in Residence, Väinö Tanner Foundation where I worked for a month during the winter of 2012.

This work is a abstract re-interpretation of a local protector saint St. Nicolas who presents as the saint of poverty and giving. The iconography tells how St. Nicolas carries three golden stones in the left hand in order to give them to three women for helping them to get out of prostitution.

The gilded stones are from around the ruins of the old St.Nicolas church at old part of the city. Exhibited on the St. Nicolas day at the local cultural house.

Picture of the iconography where St. Nicolas is at the right side. The old church got destroyed by lightning and this picture is from the collection of the remains that are held inside the church located at the new part of the village.
